Terms of sale

  1. The auctioneer will sell each lot to the highest bidder and should there be any dispute, the decision of the auctioneer will be final.

  2. Every attempt is made to describe and grade each lot with reasonable accuracy. All lots are graded by the auctioneer, whether the vendor has submitted his own grades or not.

  3. Unless described otherwise, all lots are entered by the auctioneer in good faith as being genuine, ie not forgeries or replicas. If the buyer disagrees or has an issue with grading/condition, he/she must return item within 7 working days of the auction with a note giving reason for return. Returns received after this time will incur a £25 admin charge unless late returns approved by prior arrangement.

  4. Estimates are printed in brackets after each lot. Reserves will be set no higher than the lower estimate. Bidders may bid under the estimate if they so wish.

  5. Many lots are pictured on the website but if an item is not pictured, a bidder may request pictures to be emailed to him/her at a cost of £2.00 per picture. Due to pressure of work, picture requests cannot be fulfilled during auction week

  6. The auctioneer reserves the right to consolidate or refuse any lot(s).

  7. Please note that bulk lots are not subject to approval and refunds will not be made on any such lots returned.

  8. The auctioneer will only act as agent between vendor and purchaser and will not be responsible for any dispute which might arise between them.

  9. Bidding steps: £15 - £29 = £1 step, £30 - £79 = £2 step, £80 - £199 = £5 step, £200+ = £10 step. Minimum bid on each lot is £15, bids below that will be disregarded.

  10. Vendors’ Commission: 15% calculated on the sum total of vendor’s sales. Exception is for GOLD BULLION lots where commission is automatically calculated at 10%.

  11. No commission is charged on any unsold lot.

  12. Buyers’ Premium is 13% but with a minimum total charge of £1. Exception is for GOLD BULLION lots where commission is automatically calculated at 10%.

  13. Any single lot selling for £750 or more will incur 5% commission to the vendor.

  14. Payment by secure on-line banking (details available), cheque (payable to Kleeford Coin Auctions Ltd), cash, only if you are willing to accept full liability for non-arrival, or Paypal to leighrose@btinternet.com

  15. All lots are held on behalf of vendors by Kleeford Coin Auctions Ltd and remain their property until full payment is received from the purchaser.

  16. Unsold lots will be re-entered into a future auction(s) if the vendor so desires. This will not always be the next available auction following the initial entry, but as & when the auctioneer has the space to include them. Items remaining unsold after two re-entries will be returned to the vendor.
